Swarn
SWARN is a death metal maniac, run by two dogmatic priests of horror and lunacy. The project was born from the sick distorted mind of T. Pähnapuu a.k.a. Fen who to this day is responsible for aggressive and filthy riffs and soundscape of Swarn. The lyricist/vocalist A. Lillak moulds the nightmarish fluidum into more comprehensible meanings and texts. Throughout the years Swarn has been a productive studio act, having released several albums, EPs, and singles, while somehow managing to avoid the professional help and incarceration of mental asylum.

The first EP of Swarn was released on cassette already in 2017. At that time T. Pähnapuu was assisted by the drummer Taavi Karu and vocalist Heirdran. In 2018 A. Lillak joined the project as a full-time lyricist/vocalist. Together the duo recorded the debute album “Black Flame Order” which was co-released by Raw Skull Recordz and Redefining Darkness in 2019 and got attention in the international underground circles. The music of the album, as well as the following EP “Tales From Terrorland” (self-release, 2019) worshipped punky crust death metal with few black metal spicing.
As the aeons left their heavy mark on Swarn, the band’s music has adopted stronger elements of grim black and creeping doom metal as shown on EP “Abysmal Hallucinations” (2021) and second full-length album “Whispers From Beyond” (2022), the latter of which even got nominated for the Estonian Music Awards in metal category.
